Crystal Palace and Arsenal kick off the Premier League season on Friday night from Selhurst Park Stadium.
This season will be Palace’s tenth straight in EPL, an accomplishment in its own right for any club outside of the likes of the Gunners, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Palace finished last season with a positive goal differential — one of only eight teams to do so — and will be looking to build off that impressive finish.
A greater-than-expected year from Patrick Viera’s side could have them in the mix for European football.
As for Arsenal, it’s Mikel Arteta’s job to bring along his young squad, and perhaps compete for the Europa League. All of the Gunners goal-scorers were 23 years old or younger. A bright future awaits them, assuming they don’t leave the club.
