Minnesota Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw had a strong rookie season and looks even better in camp drawing comparisons to Trent Williams.

Chrisitan Darrisaw stepped in at left tackle for the Vikings as a rookie starting 10 games and giving fans a glimpse of security at left tackle. Having a stallworth at left tackle to protect your franchise quarterback makes life a lot easier for the entire offense. Darrisaw had some tough moments at times in pass protection allowing five sacks but his play in the run game was top-notch.

But overall he only allowed 22 pressures in 398 pass-blocking snaps so there is room for improvement but overall not bad for a rookie left tackle. However, he is already flashing in camp and some have compared him to the NFL’s best-left tackle in San Fransicso’s Trent Williams.

Vikings coaches have been rather impressed with Darrisaw and thinking that he has already taken steps this offseason to make them think he can be the franchise tackle they envisioned when he was taken in the first round. The injuries slowed him down last year and led to some of the struggles in the passing game plenty to clean up but he is already trending in that direction.

There is no question that when you look at Darrisaw from a pure talent standpoint he has everything you need in a left tackle. Ultimately he has to stay healthy and continue to put the work in but the early results in 2022 show he is on track to have a great sophomore season.
