It’s been a tough year for Jim Boeheim and Syracuse and it didn’t get any better after losing, 99-82 at Pitt over the weekend, but it’s been even worse for Georgia Tech.

The Orange are 16-13 and 9-9 in conference play, but the Yellow Jackets are 12-17 and have just four ACC wins to 14 losses, though they did get a win over Louisville on Saturday, 83-67.

Despite its struggles, Syracuse is nearly a double digit favorite at home in this one. Let’s take a look at the odds.

Georgia Tech vs. Syracuse prediction and pick

The Yellow Jackets have just one win on the road this season and it was a two-point win at Georgia State back in November.

However, they are 5-5 against the spread on the road, so that doesn’t necessarily give us the edge we need handicapping this game. However, they are 6-0 ATS in their last six games overall, so that trend might.

On Saturday, Pitt ran Syracuse off the floor.

It finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds, and forced 11 turnovers which led to the Panthers taking 12 more field goals than the Orange and nearly the same amount of free throws.

Though Georgia Tech is worse at forcing turnovers than Pitt, and a worse offensive rebounding team.

I’m not sure how it’ll be able to generate those extra opportunities. The last time these teams met, Georgia Tech was outrebounded by six and turned the ball over 16 times. Pitt also hit 16 3s in that game and Georgia Tech is shooting 32.8% from 3 on just 22.5 attempts.

The Yellow Jackets are playing their best ball down the stretch with six straight covers, I don’t think they matchup well against Syracuse at all.
