Nate Diaz claims he WILL keep boxing after losing to Jake Paul as the UFC legend insists he has a ‘list of motherf***ers’ a**es to whip’… as he accepts his defeat but insists he ‘didn’t even get cut’

  • Nate Diaz insisted he will return to boxing after being defeated by Jake Paul
  • Diaz also insisted that he is willing to accept Paul’s offer to rematch him in MMA
  • UFC legend revealed that he suffered an injury prior to Saturday’s headline bout

Nate Diaz has insisted that he will continue boxing despite suffering a defeat to Jake Paul in his professional debut on Saturday.

Saturday’s event marked the first time Diaz had competed outside of the UFC since winning The Ultimate Fighter in 2007.

In a hard-fought ten round bout, the 38-year-old enjoyed spells of success against the social media star twelve years his junior but was dropped in the fifth round and ultimately found himself on the wrong side of a unanimous decision.

However, despite the defeat, when asked if he plans on continuing his career inside ring Diaz indicated that he would, and joked that he came away from his fight with Paul unblemished, unlike most of his fights inside the cage.

‘100%. Talk about experience. I didn’t even get cut today. I get cut in every MMA fight I fight in.’

Despite indicating pre-fight that he would likely return to the UFC following Saturday’s headline bout, Diaz insisted that there a number of names that he would like to take on inside the squared circle.

‘I have nobody now, but I’m sure I’m gonna go home and hear criticism… next week, get back to me, I’m sure I’ll have a list of motherf***ers’ a**es to whip.’

Diaz went on to praise Paul’s performance but revealed that he had suffered an injury in the lead up to the fight that had disrupted his preparations.

‘I didn’t think I won. I knew he got the knockdown, but I figured I won a good amount of rounds.

‘He did a good job. He’s a f***ing athletic, strong dude and he hits hard and fast, but it ain’t nothing I hadn’t seen before, and I trained with people who were [like that].

‘These guys can throw down. It’s good s***. I should have been throwing punches, keeping him on the outside. I’m not trying to make an excuse, but about a month back I hurt my right arm, a bit. I think I should’ve kept to the outside and circled, and done better stuff.

‘But it’s all good. There’s no way I [wouldn’t] show up for a fight because of something like that. You gotta go regardless, no matter what.’

In the wake of the clash, Paul indicated that he would be willing to rematch Diaz in mixed martial arts and offered the Stockton native $10million to face him in the PFL.

‘All credit to my team and I want to run it back in MMA,’ Paul said. ‘$10million PFL, that’s the offer. Let’s run it back in MMA to make it fair. I won one, now it’s your chance in home territory of MMA.

‘He’s real tough, that’s what he’s known for but tough in this sport doesn’t work. I knocked him and won basically every round, I had him hurt in the first round and he kept on coming.’

Victory for Paul sees him back in the win column after suffering his first professional defeat to Tommy Fury in February.

Despite having previously called out the Irishman on several occasions, Paul claimed post-fight that he was no longer interested in facing Conor McGregor and instead set his sights on a fight with pound-for-pound great Canelo Alvarez
