The Washington Huskies have won two in a row to get to 15-13, but they’re still only 7-10 in conference play.
Though that’s a lot better than the team in the basement of the Pac 12. The Cal Golden Bears Cal are 3-24, but two of those wins have come in conference play.
Washington narrowly beat the lowly Bears up in Washington on Jan. 14, 81-78.
The rematch is tonight in Berkeley with Cal coming off a 78-43 loss to UCLA. Here are the odds for Washington and Cal tonight.
Washington vs. California odds, spread and total
Washington vs. California prediction and pick
It’s scary to take a road favorite in conference play, that’s the first thing. It’s hard enough to win against a conference opponent at their place, but then when you have to cover a number on top of that, it’s not often a winning proposition.
Washington is only 1-8 straight up on the road this season. However, the Huskies are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games.
Cal is barely a major basketball team. It allows 70.1 points per game and scores 58.7, which is 362nd in the country.
For reference, there are 363 Division I basketball teams.
It’s terrifying to trust that team in any situation. I can’t take them even getting eight points at home. Instead I’ll trust a trend.
Though they can’t score, the over has hit in five of their last six home games. It was high scoring last time these teams played, so I’ll look for the same kind of game in this one.
