These three throws by Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud prove why he is getting so much love as an NFL Draft prospect.

The college football season is in its sixth week, while the NFL has entered Week 5. When it comes to the NFL, some fanbases know that their favorite team is not heading anywhere, or if they need an upgrade at a position of need. Perhaps the most followed position throughout the NFL Draft process are the quarterbacks, and one name that is considered to be the top prospect is Ohio State’s CJ Stroud.

Stroud has statistically been one of the best at his position, and he continued to put up video game numbers in Week 6. In the team’s blowout against the Michigan State Spartans, Stroud threw six touchdown passes, the third time he has done so in a game this season. That is also a Big Ten record.

The numbers are big, but Stroud’s throws on Saturday showed why the NFL is scouting him heavily this season. Here are three of his best passes of the day.

CJ Stroud highlights: 3 throws vs Michigan State that will have NFL teams drooling

3. Second quarter touchdown pass to Julian Fleming

The Buckeyes entered the second quarter with a 14-7 lead, which only grew seconds later.

On first-and-10 near midfield, Stroud threw a bullet pass to wide receiver Julian Fleming, who was running up the middle of the field. The throw was on target, and Fleming ran into the end zone for a 51-yard touchdown.

2. Second quarter touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison Jr.

Stroud was not done in the second quarter. His second touchdown in that 15-minute interval was a throw to receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., and it had some incredible heat behind it. Harrison caught the ball, and ran between three incoming Michigan State defenders to get the touchdown and help the Buckeyes increase their lead to 35-13.

1. Stroud’s bucket pass to Harrison off his back foot

Here we go, the throw that will certainly help increase Stroud’s stock in the NFL Draft.

Facing a third-and-eight while up 21-13, Stroud stepped back in the pocket with a defender having an open lane towards him. Stroud threw the pass off his back foot and it landed directly in Harrison’s hands, who was running along the right sideline. It was a drop in the bucket.

What an incredible pass by Stroud. Fans of NFL teams who are not exactly thrilled with their quarterback situations should be watching Ohio State games. Specifically, to scout Stroud, as he may very well be the first quarterback to be selected in the draft next April.
