Thanks to the Aaron Rodgers drama, the Green Bay Packers have been quiet in free agency.
The Green Bay Packers have not been very active this offseason, and it is apparent why. Longtime quarterback Aaron Rodgers wants to be traded to the New York Jets, and the Packers have not been able to make any significant additions to their group because of it.
Now that free agency has been going on for a little over a week, the Packers have already missed out on some notable players who they could have signed if not for this Rodgers drama. As a result, let’s take a look at a few specific free agents who the Packers were unable to sign because of it.
The Packers could already have these guys if it wasn’t for Aaron Rodgers
4. Dalton Schultz
The Packers’ biggest objective this offseason is to improve their offense. Their scoring woes were a major reason for their struggles last season, and one player who they certainly could have used is tight end, Dalton Schultz. Yet, that ship has officially sailed, as Schultz is signing with the Houston Texans.
Schultz is coming off of a solid season with the Dallas Cowboys that saw him record five touchdowns, 577 receiving yards, and 57 receptions. There’s no question that the Packers could have used a player like him in their offense, but alas, it makes sense that he has opted to sign elsewhere given the Packers’ current situation with Rodgers.
