Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani had a ridiculous game against the Red Sox, exemplified by him knocking his own number off the Green Monster.

Coming off one of the greatest seasons in the history of baseball, Shohei Ohtani doesn’t appear at all finished with his spectacular feats.

On Thursday he had arguably his best pitching performance in the MLB but that wasn’t the best highlight of his day against the Red Sox.

Ohtani hit a single in the eighth inning to score a run, with the ball smashing into the Green Monster in just the right spot to knock his number off the board.

It’s not every day you see a batter knock a pitcher’s number off the scoreboard. To do it to yourself is incredible.

Of course, that’s part of Ohtani’s calling card. He’s constantly doing things that few have ever managed in baseball.

His batting performance with two singles and an RBI was solid. However, his pitching performances was exceptional. He went seven innings and while he gave up six hits, he pitched a shutout with 11 strikeouts.

No pitcher has thrown more strikes and no starting pitcher has had as high of a strike percentage in a single game this season as Shohei Ohtani had today! 99 pitches, 81 strikes! ????pic.twitter.com/yypc5i4Owr

The pitcher got some help from Jared Walsh, who hit a home run and drove in four runs.

With Ohtani at his best on the mound, the Angels ran away with the game late, 8-0. They took the series 2-1.

The two-way star is now 3-2 as a pitcher this season. Meanwhile, Los Angeles is on a roll sitting first in the AL West thanks to a 9-3 stretch.

They’re heading home next to face off with the Nationals.
