Bellator 280: Ryan Bader vs. Cheick Kongo live results and highlights.

After its original French debut during the COVID pandemic in October 2020, Bellator MMA
returns to the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, France, with a heavyweight championship encounter
involving a French legend of the sport.

Bellator 280 will be topped by Ryan Bader defending the Bellator heavyweight championship
against Cheick Kongo.

The two first met at Bellator 226 in September 2019, a fight that ultimately ended in a
disappointing no-contest due to Bader accidentally poking Kongo in the left eye and leaving him
unable to continue.

Following that fight, Bader, then a champ-champ focused on the light heavyweight division. He
dropped the light heavyweight title to Vadim Nemkov before taking part in the Bellator Light
Heavyweight Grand Prix, defeating Lyoto Machida in the opening round before falling to Corey
Anderson in the semifinals.

Bader most recently fought in January at Bellator 273, topping interim heavyweight champ
Valentin Moldavsky in a title unification match.

Kongo has fought twice since the initial fight with Bader, dropping a split decision to Timothy
Johnson at Bellator 248 (the initial Bellator in Paris event) before submitting Sergei Kharitonov
at Bellator 265 in August.

Yoel Romero competes in the co-main event, taking on Alex Polizzi.
