Let’s break down the five best fantasy football pickups to make for Week 6.

Week 5 of the NFL season included breakout performances by Tevin Coleman, Dyami Brown, and Taysom Hill. Meanwhile, injuries to Cordarrelle Patterson and Rashaad Penny will shake up the fantasy football landscape.

With Week 5 now officially in the books, let’s take a look at the five best fantasy football pickups to make.

This week, every player listed is available in at least 30 percent of ESPN leagues, and four out of five players are available in at least 50 percent of ESPN leagues.

5. RB Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons

Rostered: 45.0%

Last week, Cordarrelle Patterson landed on the IR due to a knee injury. On Sunday, Allgeier, Caleb Huntley, and Avery Williams all logged snaps at running back, but Allgeier projects to carry the most fantasy value moving forward. The rookie led the Falcons’ running backs in carries (13), rushing yards (46), and offensive snaps (39).

As the lead back in Atlanta, Allgeier will inherently have fantasy value, but Huntley and Williams could limit his overall workload. Huntley and Williams combined for 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown to go along with two receptions for 10 yards on Sunday.

At the moment, Allgeier is a matchup-dependent FLEX option.

If Allgeier has a breakout game, he could earn a larger role. This week, he may have more value as a player to stash on your bench, as the Falcons will play the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers’ defense has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.
