Virginia escaped with an overtime home win over the weekend against Duke and now get to flex its muscles against Louisville, who is the worst team in the ACC this season.

It’s been a long season for the Cardinals under first year head coach Kenny Payne, 3-22 on the year with little to hang their hat on. They face one of the most disciplined teams in the country that have their eyes on an ACC regular season title.

The question is not if Virginia will win, but by how much?

Let’s see how oddsmakers set this line and find the best bet:

Virginia vs. Louisville prediction and pick

It’s hard to find much upside for Louisville in this matchup. Virginia is elite at protecting the ball, top 10 in the country, and the team provides zero resistance on the inside, allowing the 23rd highest field goal percentage on two-point tries.

With UVA’s ability to cut off the ball, they’ll be scoring at will against the Cardinals.

On the other side, Louisville is bottom 10 in turnover percentage and will be facing a pack-line Virginia defense that is top third in the nation in generating turnovers.

With a lack of a ball handler, the Cardinals will have to shoot from the perimeter to keep up, but this team is shooting 33% from deep as a unit and is outside the top 200 in generating second chances.

This spread seems daunting, but UVA should have little issue winning this game by 20+.
