Princeton stunned Arizona to send March Madness into absolute chaos. Here’s a look at the updated bracket after the Tigers advanced.

Day 1 of the 2023 NCAA Tournament has brought on plenty of chaos. Just hours after Furman stunned Virginia with a late three-pointer, an even bigger goliath fell as Arizona, the 2-seed in the South Region, got knocked out by 15-seed Princeton in a 59-55 shocker.

The Tigers scored the final nine points of the game, holding the Wildcats scoreless for the last 4:45 of regulation. It was a downright shocking turn of events for the Pac-12 Tournament champs, who looked to be playing their best basketball entering March Madness, and allowed Princeton to score the biggest upset for the Ivy League since the NCAA Tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985.

The afternoon window of Day 1 is almost complete with Arkansas and Illinois still in action as of post time. There have been just two upsets over the first seven games in March Madness but they are massive ones with two power conference champions bowing out before we even reached Thursday night.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has watched college basketball this season since there hasn’t been a dominant team all season long. The chaos could continue tonight with some dangerous underdogs set to take the floor, including 12-seed Oral Roberts taking on 5-seed Duke and an intriguing showdown between two of the hottest teams in the country, 7-seed Texas A&M and 10-seed Penn State out of the Midwest Region.
