Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones wasn’t about to let Tyreek Hill get away with his shots at the fanbase.
Tyreek Hill raised some eyebrows this week for multiple reasons, first suggesting he was looking forward to playing the villain role at Arrowhead Stadium next season. He then suggested he would retire after the 2025 season when his contract with the Miami Dolphins runs up.
“Chiefs Kingdom, when the Miami Dolphins come to Arrowhead Stadium this year, guess what we gone do? Guess what we gone do? I hate to throw up the peace sign against y’all, I hate to do it. But guess what? I’m gonna be y’all’s worst enemy that day. The signs, the signals, I know every signal you all got,” Hill said.
That’s a lot of material, but Chiefs fans are rightly focused on what Hill said about his return to Arrowhead. FanSided’s Kristen Wong offered a quick recap for those interested:
“Hill also said he would be the Chiefs’ “worst enemy” that day, and he indirectly called out Chiefs head coach Andy Reid telling him to “change the signals,” since Hill is very with Kansas City’s offense. Guess that means more Corndog, Cheeseburger, and Funnel Cake plays are coming.”
It’s only April, so it’s a little early for previewing specific games. Hill correctly took advantage of the NFL news cycle, however, and is drawing more attention to his podcast as a result.
Chiefs: Chris Jones calls out former KC star Tyreek Hill
Chris Jones wasn’t about Hill’s comments. It’s only April, but a new AFC rivalry is stirring months ahead of schedule.
If any former Chief has the skill level to back up this much trash talk, it’s Tyreek Hill. He’s one of the more dangerous wide receivers in football for a reason, and had another explosive season in 2022.
