KSI reveals he's 'basically a billionaire' during new video… with the YouTuber-turned-boxer PRIME brand becoming an '£8billion' company and 'taking over' the sports world

KSI revealed he’s ‘basically a billionaire’ during a social media challenge with his YouTube group, The Sidemen. 

KSI was competing against Miniminter, Zerkaa, TBJZL, Behzinga, Vikkstar123, and W2S in the social media challenge. 

The aim of the game was to score as many goals as you could in 100 shots to win £1,000 but it was KSI’s comment about his net-worth that capture the attention. 

The Sidemen were joking about the weather and how cold it was when KSI blurted out: ‘I’m basically a billionaire, what am I doing here. F*** this’. 

KSI’s pals couldn’t help but laugh at his remark and jumped in to add: ‘Yeah but you’re here in a cold field. What are you doing’.

KSI has made his money through his social media following, having conquered YouTube, released 21 singles and launched one of the most popular energy drinks in the world. 

Launched in January 2022, PRIME has quickly become one of the world’s most popular drinks, with fans in some areas even queueing outside supermarkets overnight in the early days of the company, in a bid to get their hand on a bottle.

They generated just under £200m in retail sales in its first year and has been taken on by a number of sporting brands and stars. 

In the world of football, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have partnerships with PRIME. 

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, NFL superstar and Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes and Aston Villa Women’s Alisha Lehmann have become faces of the brand.

The brand’s relationship with the UFC is particularly noteworthy, with the PRIME logo often seen on the Octagon canvas, while Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski also have ties to PRIME.

The LA Dodgers are among the biggest sporting partners in the United States, while NHL Maple Leafs’ star Auston Matthews represents another high-profile athletes in PRIME’s portfolio across the pond.

A big part of their success comes from KSI and Logan Paul’s social media following, with a combined 47.5million followers on YouTube – where they both made their name – and 40m on Instagram.

They are particularly popular among a younger demographic, which is what Dortmund pointed out as a reason for their link-up with the brand.

KSI has also launched his own boxing promotion, Misfits.  

KSI – who last fought Tommy Fury in Manchester – first stepped foot in a boxing ring back in 2018 to face fellow YouTuber Joe Weller in a highly anticipated bout. 

Since then he has also fought the likes of Logan Paul and headlined events at some of the top sporting venues around the world while working hard behind the scenes to match up other influencers via Misfits. 

KSI has made a fortune in doing so, but, he’s not the only influencer to have risen to stardom.  Global social media personality Paul sensationally revealed a prominent Australian YouTube star made him a billionaire.

Speaking on the Impaulsive TikTok page, Paul recalled how Adelaide-raised Danny Philippou convinced him to fight fellow online identity KSI.

‘Danny made me a billionaire,’ Paul stated. ‘KSI called me out for a boxing match….[but] there was no way I was going to fight this guy, I’ve got better things to do.

‘Danny stopped me… he flew over [to the US] and said ‘Logan, mate, he [KSI] is the biggest You Tuber in the UK. It would be huge.

‘Now I am partnered with KSI, we are friends and we have this amazing company, it warms my heart to think about it.’ 

Before launching their global company, PRIME, together, KSI got the better of Paul in their boxing bout in November of 2019 via split decision.

They went on to launch their canned energy drink in January 2022. However, it’s since been banned in Australia due to its high caffeine content. 

Regulations in place by Food Standards Australia state energy drinks should not contain more than 32mg of caffeine per 100ml.

However, a 350ml can of PRIME Energy contains 200mg of caffeine – which is double the limit stated by the Food Standards in Australia.

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners president Dr Nicole Higgins has urged parents not to allow their children to try the drink, which enjoys a cult status with some high school students.
