About 200,000 Victorians booked in to receive a COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, Premier Daniel Andrews says.
Speaking during Thursday’s COVID-19 update, he said there would normally be about 30,000 vaccine bookings on any given day.
Wednesday was the first day the Pfizer vaccine became available to all Victorians aged between 16 and 39.
“There are still appointments available, there’s still vaccine available [and] there’ll be further announcements made in coming weeks … as extra shipments arrive from the Commonwealth as they have promised,” Mr Andrews said.
“As soon as we have clarity about when we’re getting supply, we’ll put additional appointments into the system.”
