The ACC is going through some changes, and its made for a more competitive season across the board.

Duke and North Carolina took a step back this season, paving the way for Miami to take home the ACC regular season title after defeating Pittsburgh in the regular season finale. This conference is wide open, though, as Virginia is the highest rated team as the No. 2 seed, Duke is starting to show its high ceiling and North Carolina needs a strong showing to make the NCAA Tournament.

The ACC has only three sure fire NCAA Tournament teams and four that need to perform well in the conference tournament to punch their ticket to the ‘Big Dance.’

Let’s dissect the pre-tournament odds for the 2023 ACC Tournament.

ACC Conference tournament standings and bracket

ACC Conference tournament schedule (Dates, time, channel)

The ACC Tournament gets started on Tuesday, but the top four seeds get two days off ahead of their games on Thursday. Tuesday’s action is a triple header on ACC Network while the other three rounds are broadcasted on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU.

The Finals will be Saturday at 8:30 PM EST on ESPN.

ACC Conference tournament prediction and pick

This tournament is wide open as nobody is head and shoulders above the competition and the bracket leads to intriguing matchups throughout.

North Carolina State has the guard play to make a run through this tournament, but Clemson swept the season series between these two and loom in the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, North Carolina is the No. 7 seed and needs to string together wins in Greensboro in order to make the field of 68.

They do have a nice draw, facing the winner of Boston College and Louisville before matching up with Virginia, who they beat convincingly at home a few weeks back. The team did struggle against North Carolina State’s guards on the road, but the Tar Heels smashed Clemson by 20 in their lone meeting, a potential semifinal game.

In the top half of the bracket, Duke is starting to find its stride, winning six straight games to close the regular season after losing a pair of games on the road to Miami (by 22) and Virginia (in overtime), capped off by beating rival UNC on the road last weekend.

I think we are looking at a rematch of the two rivals in the ACC Tournament Finals, a series controlled by Duke this season, but I think North Carolina goes dancing with an ACC Tournament win.
