Cooper Rush remains undefeated as the Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback following the team’s 20-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Dallas Cowboys were seemingly heading into a downward spiral, as starting quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a fractured right thumb and would be sidelined multiple weeks following surgery. With that, the Cowboys moved forward with Cooper Rush as QB1, with his second start of the season coming against the Cincinnati Bengals, the defending AFC champions.
Dallas pulled off the upset, as they defeated the Bengals 20-17 on a game-winning, 50-yard field goal by Brett Maher. The Cowboys now have their first win of the season, while the Bengals drop to 0-2.

Rush started things off by leading the Cowboys to an opening drive touchdown, when he hit wide receiver Noah Brown on a nine-yard touchdown. By the end of the second quarter, Dallas held a 17-3 lead over the Bengals, who looked lifeless.
Then, Cincinnati bounced back in the second half. Following two field goals by kicker Evan McPherson and a five-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Joe Burrow to wide receiver Tee Higgins, the Bengals officially tied the game.
On the final drive, Rush completed three consecutive passes to bring them within field goal range, and a three-yard rush by Tony Pollard helped them set up the 50-yard field goal attempt by Maher, which was good.
Rush completed 19-of-31 pass attempts for 235 yards and a touchdown.
As for the Bengals, they remain winless on the year. The offensive line is still an issue, despite the additions made this offseason. Burrow was sacked six times for a loss of 34 yards, and hit nine times.
The Cowboys now look to carry this momentum into a pivotal matchup against the New York Giants on the Week 3 edition of Monday Night Football. As for the Bengals, they face a New York Jets team that overcame a 30-17 deficit with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to defeat the Cleveland Browns 31-30.
