Fans on Clemson message boards were not pleased with the team’s early performance against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
The 2021 season did not go the way that the Clemson Tigers team and the fanbase had envisioned. They finished the year with a 10-3 record and in third-place in the ACC. But on Labor Day, Clemson had the chance to begin their bounce back tour with a win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
After one quarter, both Clemson and Georgia Tech were tied inside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. To say that Clemson fans on message boards did not take that well is an understatement. Take a look at some of the posts, via the Message Board Geniuses Twitter account.
Clemson fans were not happy with Tigers showing vs. Georgia Tech
Things did get better for the Tigers once the second quarter began. Clemson took a 7-0 lead following a one-yard touchdown run by Will Shipley. On their next drive, the Tigers extended their lead to 14-0 after quarterback DJ Uiagalelei connected with Beaux Collins on a six-yard touchdowns.
However, the Yellow Jackets were able to make things close, as they hit a 45-yard field goal prior to halftime, and Jeff Sims completed a 13-yard touchdown pass to E.J. Jenkins to cut their deficit to 14-10.
The Tigers were able to pull away to a 24-10 lead by the end of the third quarter following a 29-yard field goal by B.T. Potter and a nine-yard touchdown run by D.J. Uiagalelei.
No matter who the team is, the fanbase wants to see instant results, even if it is the first game of the season.
