Tommy Fury is beyond excited to face KSI on Saturday night, but his fiancee Molly-Mae Hague couldn’t think of anything worse. Her feelings towards Tommy and his boxing career were well documented on the Netflix show, At Home with the Furys. But Tommy has revealed exactly what his future wife makes of his career during an exclusive sit down with Mail Sport.
Tommy and Molly first met in 2019 on ITV‘s hit reality TV show ‘Love Island’ and quickly became one of the most popular couples in and out of the villa. The public fell more and more in love with the pair as their relationship blossomed on screen.
Tommy and Molly continued their relationship after the show, sharing their lives on social media and YouTube. Their partnership extended into business collaborations, including a successful partnership with brands and their own lines.
However, it wasn’t long before Tommy made a return to the ring to fight Przemyslaw Binienda at the Copper Box Arena in London, defeating him via technical knockout in the first round.
Tommy explained how Molly’s support has been unwavering, but opened up on the emotional toll it was taking on the mother of his daughter. He said the arrival on Bambi (his baby girl) on added to the emotional strain on his fiancee.

Tommy says his fiancée Molly-Mae hates him fighting but tolerates it because he love it
He says Molly struggles watching the father of her child getting punched in the face
Speaking about Molly in an exclusive interview with Mail Sport, Tommy said: ‘She doesn’t like me boxing. Especially now we have a baby. She is looking at the father of her child getting in the ring and potentially getting hurt and getting punched.
‘It’s not nice. I am pretty sure any partner if you have one, you wouldn’t like to see him getting beaten up. It is what it is. Boxing is a funny game. She tolerates it because she knows how happy it makes me.’
However, Tommy is confident in his ability and backs himself to knock KSI out when they go toe-to-toe at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday night, claiming he’s the ‘better athlete’ and ‘fighter’.
Although, Tommy did recognise the fact there is an immense amount of pressure on his shoulders heading into Saturday night’s fight because of his surname.
Tommy is the younger brother of the illustrious British heavyweight boxing champion, Tyson Fury. Their familial connection has garnered significant attention, placing significant pressure on Tommy as he looks to forge his own path in the boxing world.
However, Tommy says he can handle the pressure of the Fury name. He told Mail Sport: ‘It’s absolutely fine and I will tell you why. I know I am levels above these guys. When you know you can beat someone, it’s a different story. In my mind, this is not 50/50 at all. I am 100 times better than KSI.
KSI and Fury squared off ahead of their highly anticipated boxing match
‘I am the better athlete, the better fighter, the mover. Whatever you want to say, I am. I have had all this pressure before. It’s not this is my first massive occasion. I have been on this world stage before, with all eyes on the fight.
‘I have had Ronaldo ringside. I’ve had Mike Tyson ringside. I have had everybody. It’s really my second time at this. I am looking to put on a much better performance this time. I am looking to get KSI out of there early and make a statement.’
He went on to speak about how his brother is also on hand to offer him advice. He told Mail Sport: ‘We’ve been on the phone every day speaking. He’s in great shape, I am in great shape. I am in the best shape of my career.
‘It’s always great to have him there for any bits of advice. Or anything. He will be at the fight on Saturday night. He will be attending. It will be great to have him there. It’s going to be a really good night.’
Tommy will take on KSI on Saturday night on the Misfits Boxing Prime Card, which is gearing up to be one of the biggest sports-entertainment events of the year. However, many have questioned why Tommy is rubbing shoulders with the YouTubers.
Tommy said money was the key driving factor behind his decision. He told Mail Sport: ‘These fights are financially fantastic. We’re not going to beat around the bush here. We all know that is why I am doing these fights.
Tommy (right) has said he can handle the pressure of the Fury name and explained how his brother (Tyson Fury pictured left) is always on standby to offer him words of wisdom
‘If it wasn’t [financially fantastic] do you really think I would be entertaining these idiots? I don’t like the circus that goes with it. I am about the fighting. So, at the end of the day, if I wasn’t paid a lot of money to be here I wouldn’t be. I would be sticking to the traditional boxing route. So, that’s the reason I am here. I am here to end all of this and continue on to become a world champion.’
Tommy went on to speak about the circus associated with Misfits boxing, claiming: ‘It’s a load of s***. I am just here passing the time. Doing the media, doing what I am obligated to do in my contract.
‘I have all the fun in the ring. That’s where I shine. For them [YouTubers], it’s the talking. The build-up and selling the fight is their domain. For me, it’s in between the ropes, getting down to it. The rest is just s***. It doesn’t mean a thing. Once they get in the ring, they have no where to run.’
Tommy went on to add: ‘It’s all just bollocks isn’t it. It’s just all s***. They all talk a good game these guys. That’s how they made a living before boxing. They’ve literally just come, spat a load of bulls**** and expect to get away with it.
‘I ain’t no YouTuber. I ain’t no rapper. I have been doing this my entire life. He [KSI] will not be able to do the things he’s been doing in his past fights. I am the dictator here. I am the bigger, stronger man. I will be the much bigger man on the night and he is going to pay for it.’
Tommy’s father John, on the other hand, loves the circus associated with Misfits and regularly engages with his son’s opponents. This fight with KSI has been no different.
John Fury got in the cage during the press conference to punch the screen in front of KSI
John has been heavily involved in the build-up to this weekend’s bout in Manchester
John has been heavily involved in the build-up to this weekend’s bout, having caused the first press conference in August to be brought to an abrupt end when he smashed and flipped tables on stage.
That led to Misfits putting in more precautions for Thursday’s press conference as they introduced a cage with a panel to separate the fighters. However, that didn’t stop John.
John started smashing the panel, throwing multiple punches before headbutting the plastic. The crowd were absolutely loving it and chanted for John to show them ‘more’.
Despite taking a backseat role in the press conference, Tommy showed he is motivated for the fight on Saturday night. He told Mail Sport he wanted to get KSI out of the ring ‘sooner rather than later’ before stating he will make a ‘statement’ at the AO Arena. So, I guess we will have to wait and see what happens!
