Frank Bruno has taken to X to confirm he is still alive, amid seeing the hashtag #RIPFrank was trending on social media.
The former World Heavyweight champion reacted after seeing the trend on X, and confirmed it wasn’t him who had passed away.
In fact, the term started to trend following the sad passing of former Scottish footballer Frank McDougall, who died on Sunday night.
A flurry of tributes were made to the ex-St Mirren and Aberdeen striker online and led to Bruno seeing his name as one of the top trends.
But the 61-year-old made sure to let his fans know the posts didn’t relate to him, after ‘checking’ it wasn’t him who had died.

Bruno then used the remainder of his tweet to reflect on the week ahead and comment on the controversial game between Tottenham and Liverpool at the weekend that saw a goal wrongly disallowed for offside.
Adding: ‘So a new week and a busy one. I have been asked to comment about the Liverpool VAR situation if it becomes apparent that it could be a title decider or a champions league placing maybe a rematch?
