The SEC isn’t a very strong conference this season, and yet, Arkansas with its top recruiting class and experienced returners is just 7-7 in conference play and 18-9 overall.
It’s been a bit of a disappointing year so far, but a big win over Florida last time out might have given the young team some momentum as they finish out the final stretch of the SEC season.
The Razorbacks are big favorites at home tonight against the Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia is 2-1 in its last three games and 16-11 overall. The Bulldogs have a 6-8 mark in the SEC.
On Saturday they lost to Alabama 108-59 and could be staring down another double-digit loss tonight.
Georgia vs. Arkansas odds, spread and total
Georgia vs. Arkansas prediction and pick
The Georgia Bulldogs don’t have the easiest time scoring. They only average 69.5 points and shoot just 41.7% from the field and 32.3% from 3. They are led by Terry Roberts who averages 14.2 points per game, but he and Kario Oquendo are the only players averaging double-figures for the Bulldogs.
That all adds up to 229th in offensive efficiency.
It’ll be even tougher tonight against Arkasnas. The Razorbacks aren’t Eric Musselman’s typical offense-first team. Instead, this version is 15th in defensive efficiency and 52nd in opponent field goal percentage. The under is 16-10-1 in their games this season.
It feels like a lot of points for an Arkansas team that’s 122nd in points per game, but Arkansas is 4-1 against the spread in its last five home games. Meanwhile Georgia is 1-9 ATS in its last 10 games.
I’ll trust those trends and lay the points.
Arkansas might be putting things together in its win against Florida, it put up 84 points and even Jalen Graham, a senior who plays 10 minutes a game, finished with 27 points in 26 minutes.
If it can get contributions like that from their bench, then they can make noise down the stretch and in March.
