Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford “all the time believed” his first England senior call-up would come – and “wouldn’t hand over” on it till he retired.
Bamford, 27, has been included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for September’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers towards Hungary, Andorra and Poland.
