Sparks flew at the final press conference for Saturday’s super fight between Errol Spence Jr and Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford – but not between the two men bidding to become the first undisputed welterweight king of the four-belt era.
As tempers came to the boil on a sweltering Las Vegas Strip, Crawford and his trainer Brian ‘BoMac’ Mcintyre clashed with members of Spence’s family.
Abuse and trash talk flew between the top table and the two camps as the countdown continued to fight night at T-Mobile Arena.
‘Things can get real sticky, real quick,’ WBO champion Crawford warned Team Spence. ‘You doing all the talking, it can turn real deadly.’
Crawford then smacked the microphone stand, before continuing the war of words with one particularly vocal member of Spence’s team.

‘You ain’t going to break nothing,’ Bud told him. ‘You a b****!’
Spence refused to be rattled by heckling from Crawford’s camp but his trainer Derrick James did clash with opposite number BoMac.
‘You cant hide no more… I can tell you how it is to be undisputed. You can’t tell me s***,’ Mcintyre warned, before James hit back: ‘The only thing that’s been hiding is your Big Macs and Cheetos!’
The trainer continued: ‘They gotta make a new weight (class) for you, super heavyweight… what the f*** are you talking about?’
Spence and Crawford are both unbeaten world champions looking to make history on Saturday night.

Crawford can become the first man to be undspited king of two divisions, while Spence can cement his place as the best fighter at 147lbs in this era.
‘The Truth’ vowed to leave his rival ‘in the dirt’, insisting: ‘I’m the better fighter physically and mentally… I’m going to break him down and break his will.’
Spence added; ‘Make sure you bring your seasoning because we’re going to have a crawfish boil. And we’re going to boil it too!’
Crawford, who has already captured all four belts at 140lbs, believes victory will prove he is the heir to Floyd Mayweather.
‘This is the Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford era,’ he said. ‘You can’t deny that. I never had a close fight, I never had a fight where people thought I lost. I never had a fight where I didn’t look spectacular.’
He added: ‘I’m ready, he’s ready. We’re going to have a fish fire come Saturday.’
Earlier, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson was brought on stage to conduct a special coin toss to decide the running order on Saturday night.
Crawford rightly called heads, meaning he will have the choice to either walk to the ring first and be introduced second, or walk second and be introduced first. ‘Bud’ will make his decision on fight night.
‘This is amazing, I haven’t seen something like this in over 30 years,’ Tyson said. ‘Two of the best in the world, fighting to decide who is truly the best.’
