Super Bowl 2024 odds (Chiefs favored to go back-to-back)

Super Bowl 57 was a game for the ages, with the Kansas City Chiefs rallying from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 on a field goal in the closing seconds.

For fans who bet on Kansas City and hit some of the fun prop bets on the night, it probably seems like we’re going an eternity before football starts again, but that doesn’t mean you can’t place any wagers.

You see, when one season ends, another one begins… in the betting market.

The odds for Super Bowl 58 have been released, and we’ve already seen some teams make moves based on their coaching hires (the Denver Broncos) and their potential move at quarterback (Aaron Rodgers, Derek Carr) this offseason.

With the 2022 season (2023 Super Bowl) in the books, bettors can get a jumpstart on the futures market in the 2024 Super Bowl odds if they feel there is a team that is undervalued.

If you think a team may add a big player in free agency or if you feel one roster is simply overlooked, jumping in now allows bettors time to hedge when the market prices shorten once next season starts.

Let’s take a look at the latest odds to win Super Bowl 58:

Odds to win Super Bowl 58

Chiefs, Bills and 49ers favored in 2024 Super Bowl odds

It’s not a surprise that two of the teams atop the odds have two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes have gone to the Super Bowl in three of the last four seasons, winning twice, and defeating a tough Philadelphia Eagles team this season.

With Andy Reid at the helm and Mahomes commanding the offense, the Chiefs are going to be perennial contenders and favorites. Since Mahomes became the team’s starting quarterback, they’ve won at least 12 games in each regular season.

The Buffalo Bills fell short this season, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs, but oddsmakers believe in Josh Allen and company to be right back in the mix in the 2023 season.

Allen and the Bills still have a solid roster, and Von Miller’s eventual return from a knee injury should boost the team’s defense next season.

The key for Buffalo will be getting through a top-heavy AFC that already has Kansas City and Cincinnati vying for the top spots in the conference.

The surprise favorite, in my eyes, is the San Francisco 49ers, who have a lot of questions at the quarterback position.

Rookie Brock Purdy led the team down the stretch of the 2022 season, but he is dealing with a significant elbow injury that may hold him out for part of next season. He’s not the only young quarterback who was injured for the 49ers last season, as former No. 3 overall pick Trey Lance broke his ankle early in the season.

The Niners did say that they plan to let Jimmy Garoppolo walk, so that indicates that one of Lance or Purdy gets the nod at quarterback next season.

Apparently, the 49ers’ supporting cast is so good that oddsmakers don’t care who is under center for them next season.

What are Chiefs odds to repeat as Super Bowl champions?

Kansas City is +600 to win the Super Bowl next season.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have been a staple in the Super Bowl lately, and they’ve made the AFC Championship Game in every single season that Mahomes has been the starting quarterback.

That consistency is going to keep them atop the odds list, but it will be interesting to see how they proceed with some of their free agents this coming offseason. However, the Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill and still won the Super Bowl this season, so maybe all they really need is Mahomes.

What are the Eagles odds to win the Super Bowl in 2024?

The Eagles put together a gutsy performance in Super Bowl 57, but they ultimately fell short, struggling to stop the Chiefs in the second half.

Jalen Hurts and company are +900 to win the Super Bowl next season, behind the Chiefs, Bills, 49ers and tied with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Philly should still be one of the best teams in the NFC next season, but it appears oddsmakers think they’ll have some competition in the NFC (San Francisco) to get back to the big game.
