A Texas Longhorns message board wants head coach Steve Sarkisian out after the team’s loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
The Texas Longhorns entered Week 8 looking to bring the Oklahoma State Cowboys further down the AP Top 25 after they lost to the TCU Horned Frogs in overtime the week prior.
Texas looked to be in good shape, as they held a 34-24 lead in the third quarter. But then, Oklahoma State came back, scoring 17 unanswered points to walk out of Boone Pickens Stadium with the 41-34 win.
Let’s just say that some on the Texas message boards were not entirely thrilled with the loss. One user, in particular, said that they wanted to see head coach Steve Sarkisian fired, and replaced with, you guessed it, Urban Meyer.
“Fire Sark, Hire Urban,” the user wrote, “Whatever it takes. He is the only guy out there that can turn this s***show around quickly. There was a time when people worried about Urban’s integrity. Now that the players are making tons of money, and there is open free-agency with the portal, there is no integrity in the game.”
Texas message board user wants Steve Sarkisian fired after Oklahoma State loss
Death. Taxes. A college football fan wanting the head coach of their favorite team fired and replaced by Meyer. It seems like they completely forgot about Meyer’s end to his Ohio State tenure and his disastrous 13-game stint as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Longhorns had a chance to break a 34-34 tie with a 46-yard field goal, but Bert Auburn’s attempt was no good. Oklahoma State responded with a Spencer Sanders touchdown pass to Bryson Green. With a chance to tie things up, Texas’ ensuing drive ended on a Quinn Ewers interception.
Yet, there was hope for Texas, as Oklahoma State went three-and-out, giving them yet another chance to tie things up. But Ewers threw another interception to clinch the loss for the Longhorns.
