Nice Britain’s world champion Dina Asher-Smith has pulled out of the Olympic 200m after revealing she tore her hamstring earlier this month.

The 25-year-old, who suffered the harm whereas on the British Championships, didn’t make the 100m ultimate after operating 11.05 seconds within the semi-finals earlier on Saturday.

“It broke my coronary heart as a result of I’m a competitor,” a tearful Asher-Smith informed BBC Sport.

“It’s the Olympics however there are lots different championships for me to return and kill.”
