WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury will be accompanying his half-brother Tommy out to Saudi Arabia for Sunday’s all-important clash with Jake Paul.
Tommy is set to fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer at the third time of trying on February 26 in Riyadh and will look to Tyson for wisdom.
There is a lot riding on Sunday’s fight for Tommy. His half-brother Tyson and his father John have made it clear they will disown him if he loses.
Tyson and John have said Tommy will have to change his name and stay in Saudi Arabia is he loses to the ‘Problem Child’.
Therefore, Sportsmail have looked at Tyson and Tommy’s relationship ahead of this weekend’s highly anticipated fight.

Tommy and Tyson’s family tree
Tommy and Tyson are half-brothers. They share the same dad, John Fury. Tommy and Tyson are also 11 years apart and have three other brothers.
Tommy’s mother Chantal – who is of Mauritian descent – has avoided the spotlight as much as possible. However, she did appear on the 2019 season of Love Island when her son was starring in the show alongside Molly-Mae Hague.
Tyson’s mother Amber Fury has also kept herself out of the public eye. Speaking about his mum’s privacy, Tyson previously said: ‘I looked on Google the other day and there’s not one picture of my mother on the internet. That’s crazy isn’t it?

‘She has never been to one of my boxing fights, amateur or professional and never been in the public eye at all. She’s a private person. That’s her priority, not mine.
‘I don’t think it means anything to my mum. She doesn’t care if I’m world champion or not, as long as I’m healthy and happy. That is the only thing that means anything to her.
‘You could give my mother that table full of £50 notes and diamonds and it wouldn’t change who she is, ever. Money can’t change certain individuals; nothing can. You could give her the power to run the UK, it wouldn’t matter, it wouldn’t change her.
‘She is not interested in changing, at all. She doesn’t want to be a somebody, she doesn’t want to be anything that she isn’t already and that is what she has been all her life and brought up to be.’
John’s boxing career spanned eight years, beginning in April 1987 and ending in June 1995
David vs Goliath: The physical differences between Tommy and the WBC heavyweight champion
Tommy and Tyson couldn’t look more different if they tried. Tommy has a chiselled six-pack and a head of hair, while Tyson has a set of legendary love handles and a bald head.
Tyson also towers over Tommy with a height of 6ft 7in compared to the 23-year-old’s height of 6ft. Tyson is also 40KG heavier than Tommy who typically weighs around 82 KG.
Tyson also boasts a reach of 85in, while Tommy’s reach is 80in. However, they both use an orthodox stance when in the ring.

Tommy was in school while Tyson was on a downward spiral of drugs and depression
Tommy was 17 years old when Tyson was spiralling off the rails in 2017. He was attending St. Ambrose Barlow High School in Manchester at the time.
Fury became the king of the division when he dethroned Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf in November 2015, only to surrender his belts amid problems in his private life.
Fury ballooned up to 29st and suffered with depression, drinking and drugs. Tyson spoke openly about his issues during an emotional interview with Rolling Stone.
He said: ‘I was a lot happier when I wasn’t the world champion because people wasn’t giving me as much s***. People wasn’t wanting me to do all these bad things so much. Listen I’ve been pushed to the brink. I can’t take no more. I’m in a hospital at the moment. I’m seeing psychiatrists. Everything.
‘They say I’ve got a version of bipolar. I’m a manic depressive. All from what they’ve done to me. All this s*** through boxing, through taking titles, through writing me off. I beat the best man but I’m still s***.
Tommy (pictured as a 13-year-old) was 15 when Tyson became world champion in 2015
‘I used to love boxing when I was a kid. It was my life. All the way through it was my life. You finally get to where you need to be and it becomes a big mess. And that’s it. I hate boxing now. I wouldn’t even go across the road to watch a world title fight. That’s what it’s done to me.
‘I don’t even want to wake up. I hope I die every day. And that’s a bad thing to say when I’ve got three children and a lovely wife isn’t it? But I don’t want to live anymore. And if I could take me own life – and I wasn’t a Christian – I’d take it in a second. I just hope someone kills me before I kill me self. I’ll have to spend eternity in hell.
‘I’m in a very bad place at the moment. I don’t know whether I’m coming or going. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. I don’t know if I’m going to see the year out to be honest.’
When asked about cocaine use, he said: ‘I’ve done a lot of things in my life. I’ve done lots of cocaine. Lots of it. Why shouldn’t I take cocaine? It’s my life isn’t it? I can do what I want. Yeah, I have done cocaine.
Fury put on a great deal of weight due to drink and drug problems between 2015 and 2016
Paris has been a strong source of support for Fury both inside and outside of the ring
‘Plenty of people have done cocaine as well. What the f*** has that got to do with anything? That ain’t a performance enhancing drug. Am I not allowed to have a life now as well? Do they want to take my personal life off me too?
‘I’ve not been in a gym for months. I’ve not been training. I’ve been going through depression. I just don’t want to live anymore, if you know what I’m saying. I’ve had total enough of it. They’ve forced me to the breaking edge. Never mind cocaine. I just didn’t care. I don’t want to live anymore.
‘So cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore. I never took other drugs, ever, in me life. I only started to take cocaine in the last few months.’
Meanwhile, Tyson’s wife Paris said: ‘Tyson had ballooned, he had gone to 29 stone. He was drinking heavy and doing things that I didn’t know about and it was just getting worse and more out of hand. It was a hard situation for anyone to be in.’
Tommy was relatively unknown before Love Island while Tyson was a world heavyweight champion
Tommy only had two professional fights before entering the Love Island villa in 2018. He was relatively unknown on the boxing scene despite being Tyson’s half-brother. However, Tommy did win his opening fights against Jevgenijs Andrejevs.
Meanwhile, Tyson had already faced and beaten the likes of Derek Chisora, Steve Cunningham and then Klitschko to become a heavyweight world champion.

Tommy signed up for Love Island while Tyson prepared for comeback clash against Deontay Wilder
Speaking about Tommy’s decision to enter the Love Island villa in 2019, Tyson said: ‘I thought, he’s a good looking lad. He might get carried away being a TV reality star rather than a fighting man.
‘It’s the last thing he needs to do when he’s trying to become a professional fighter. I said, ‘Nah, it won’t be a good idea that, you’ll mess up what you’re doing in your career. You’re on a roll, keep with boxing.’
Tyson disagreed with Tommy’s decision to enter the Love Island villa in 2019 and said he should have been focusing on his boxing career

However, Tyson did support his half-brother during his stint on the ITV show. He regularly said Tommy was ‘smashing it’ and that he wanted to see the 23-year-old ‘win the show’.
Tyson also joked that he was ‘jealous’ over how ‘ripped’ all the Love Island contestants look. He said: ‘Well it’s not something I can say I have honestly watched ever. I’m usually quite jealous of how they all look.
‘Me being a fat man, they’re all ripped, it’s not something I wanna watch all the time, it makes me feel bad about myself.’
Tyson also said he would have visited Tommy during the family episode of the show if it wasn’t for the fact he was in camp. Tyson said: ‘I would of (sic) loved to but I am in training camp.
‘People do not realise the sacrifices made to reach the top level… not just in boxing but anything you aspire to do.’
Tommy is no strange to being punched by the WBC heavyweight champion
Tommy has taken his fair share of punches from Tyson over the years. They two have training alongside each other and even sparred during camp.
In February 2020, Tommy revealed what it was like to get a ‘clip’ from the Gypsy King. Speaking to The Sun, Tommy said: ‘Put it this way, Tyson will take a look at you, and a little tap from Tyson is – at 6ft 9in and 19stone – going to hurt.
‘I’ve taken a punch of what he’d give from 45 millimetres away and that’s hard enough, I can tell you. There’s never, ever going to be another man like Tyson on the planet. He’s the most mentally strong person in the entire world.’
Tommy and Tyson have trained together in the past despite having completely different teams
Tommy and Tyson have trained alongside each other on multiple occasions and the WBC champion is expected to be in Saudi Arabia for the 23-year-old’s bout with Paul.
In November 2021, Tyson decided to help Tommy train for his fight with Paul – which was scheduled to take place on December 2021 before it was called off.
The fight was called off because Tommy broke a rib during in sparring. The Love Island star was also suffering from a chest infection.
Nevertheless, Tyson took to Instagram to share a series of photos and videos with his half-brother during their training camp.
Tyson explained how he had had adopted the role of ‘coach’ and credited ‘the boys’ with ‘training hard’.
Tyson said: ‘Just finished my first morning session as a trainer, really happy with myself the way things went. All the boys trained hard.’
Tommy and Tyson have been seen training alongside each other on several occasions
Fury then turned to his half-brother and asked: ‘how was it?’. To which Tommy responded: ‘The run this morning was good, good leg work – I’m feeling good, feeling fit. Trainer T is doing the best job!’.
Tommy went on to say: ‘He’s getting knocked spark out, two rounds. Tyson added: ‘Jake Paul, we’re coming for you!’.
The pair were also seen training alongside each other in Miami in May 2021 – sharing several pictures on social media.
Tommy was seen accompanying Tyson on a private jet and to beach clubs and swanky dinners – but the half-brothers were sure to get some rigorous training under their belts in between.
The duo have shared sweaty snaps from workouts together, hitting the gym, training in the boxing ring and heading on gruelling four-mile beach runs.
But the men have been sure to play hard as well as work hard.
Tyson shared snaps of himself hitting the sun loungers with his Love Island star half-brother as they whipped off their shirts and caught some rays at a private pool.

Tyson threatened to take the Fury name away from Tommy and ban him from coming home
Speaking to Boxing Social in October last year, Tyson said: ‘If Tommy can’t splatter Jake Paul, I’ll retire him from boxing myself. If he can’t beat Jake Paul, forget about boxing.
‘Because he’s got ambitions of being a world champion, never mind beating some YouTube guy. But it’s a great fight for the social media world and for all the kids out there who support them both.
‘It’s a great fight to watch, it’s a spectacle. But Tommy – his name’s Fury. If he can’t beat Jake Paul, I’ll have to change his name.’
Tyson went on to say that Tommy would be banned from returning home if he lost to the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
In November, Tyson said: ‘I think Tommy will knock him out. No disrespect to Jake Paul, but like I said to Tommy, if he can’t knock Jake Paul out, fly to a foreign country and stay there because he ain’t coming home.’
