Tyson Fury has launched an expletive-laden tirade against famed podcast host Joe Rogan over a hypothetical showdown between the boxing heavyweight champion and UFC star Jon Jones.
The outburst was sparked by Rogan’s recent comments suggesting that the UFC legend would triumph in a hypothetical fight between the two athletes.
Fury, 34, took exception to 55-year-old Rogan’s remarks during a podcast episode where he claimed that the Gypsy King would suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of MMA GOAT Jon Jones.
‘You want to talk about who’s the baddest man on the planet? If Jon Jones and Tyson Fury are locked into a room, I’m pushing all of my chips on black,’ Rogan told comedian Andrew Schultz on the podcast.
‘Tyson Fury is an amazing boxer – he doesn’t have a f***ing chance in hell of making it out of that room. He has no chance of making it out of that room. Zero chance.
‘[Fury] would have to catch Jon immediately with one punch, and I just don’t see that happening, man.’
Rogan said he had little doubt that UFC champion Jon Jones would beat Fury if the two met in a cage – or were locked in a room together
Fury lived up to his name with a vicious, expletive-laden rant at Rogan and said that he would beat Jones anytime
A defiant Fury believes he would emerge victorious in such a fantasy bout and wasn’t about to let Rogan’s prediction slide.
Rogan’s theory was based on the significant threat posed by Jones’ takedown ability. However, Fury vehemently disagreed with this assessment, unleashing a fiery response on social media while pacing around his gym.
‘I heard Joe Rogan say something about me, and I’ve been off all the social medias and didn’t reply to that little p****, little f****** midget, bald-headed midget,’ Fury said.
‘I heard him say that Jon Jones could f*** me up if we were in the room together.
‘I don’t think so. Not a man born from a mother could f*** me up, in a room, on our own. Whatever happens in that room, I’d be walking out. Not a f****** problem.’
Before this controversy erupted, the two appeared to share a friendly rapport, with Fury even appearing as a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience back in 2018.
Nonetheless, Fury made sure to tag Rogan in an Instagram story to ensure the podcast host was aware of his displeasure.
Jones, the current No. 1 in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings, responded to Fury’s rant on Twitter. While he praised the boxer’s prowess in the ring, he also highlighted the Gypsy King’s slim chances in the Octagon.
Fury took aim at both Rogan and Jones in his social media rant but there is no sign of a hybrid fight happening anytime soon
Jones said he respects Fury as a boxer but has little doubt he would beat the heavyweight champion under UFC rules
Jones even went so far as to invite Fury to contact UFC president Dana White if he wanted to settle the debate once and for all.
‘Hey Tyson, it seems like Joe may have struck a nerve,’ Jones said on Twitter. ‘I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage.’
Jon Jones boasts an impressive 27-1-1 record and is widely regarded as the greatest UFC fighter of all time.
After successfully defending the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship 11 times, he vacated the title before winning the Heavyweight Championship on March 4 against Cyril Gane.
Meanwhile, Tyson Fury has entertained the idea of facing former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a four-ounce glove showdown.
You notice that! Wasn¿t calling himself the baddest when he was still a free agent. He signed safely behind a new organization, and now suddenly the baddest thing walking. Like we all haven¿t seen him quitting inside that cage before. https://t.co/2lm13FUqxI

The two fighters confronted each other in the ring after Fury’s victory over Dillian Whyte, but plans for a match between them have since fizzled out.
In response to Fury’s recent outburst, Ngannou, now the most high-profile acquisition in Professional Fighters League [PFL] history, reminded the Gypsy King of their past encounter.
Fury has also expressed his desire to sign a new 10-fight contract following his retirement, un-retirement, and knockout of Derek Chisora last December.
However, a title unification bout with fellow undefeated champion Oleksandr Usyk has yet to materialise, prompting Fury to challenge promoter Frank Warren to secure him a fight.
As for Jones, he is expected to defend his title against former champion Stipe Miocic, though an official date for the contest remains unconfirmed by the UFC.
