Darby Allin took on Jeff Hardy on the May 11 episode of AEW Dynamite, and he took one of the craziest dives off a ladder you’ve probably ever seen in wrestling.

The May 11 episode of AEW Dynamite featured the start of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournaments. The main event of the show at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. was a first-round matchup in the Men’s Tournament and it was a dream match between Darby Allin and Jeff Hardy. Fans were looking forward to this match for quite some time, considering both have built up reputations of being daredevils in the squared circle.

Allin vs. Hardy did not disappoint, as it was a no disqualification match. The two threw their bodies at one another. In Allin’s case, he laid Hardy out on a row of steel chairs at ringside, set up a tall ladder in the middle of the ring and proceeded to dive off of it on top of Hardy in an absolutely insane spot.

That was far from the only crazy sequence to happen in the match. Allin went for his signature Coffin Drop move onto Hardy on the hardest part of the ring, but Hardy moved out at the very last second. Then, there was Hardy trying to hit the Swanton Bomb onto Allin, who was laid out on steel steps at ringside, but the younger wrestler moved out of the way.

The finish of the match saw Allin hit the Coffin Drop on Hardy in the ring but was rolled up in a crucifix pin for the three-count. That allowed Hardy to advance to the Semifinals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament, where he will take on Adam Cole, who defeated Dax Harwood earlier in the night.

This was a highly anticipated match for wrestling fans, and it definitely lived up to the hype.
