Watch: Texas A&M completes Mets-like comeback to topple South Carolina

Jim Schlossnagle has the Texas A&M baseball team thriving as the Aggies completed a miraculous comeback against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday.

The first year of the Jim Schlossnagle era of Texas A&M baseball is off to an incredibly solid start. The Texas A&M Aggies have won all sorts of games throughout this season and those wins have come in all sorts of ways.

Fortunately for the Aggies, and unfortunately for the South Carolina Gamecocks, the most recent A&M win has come in the form of a thrilling comeback.

Saturday, somehow, the Aggies found themselves trailing South Carolina by a margin of 9-0 by the time the fourth inning came to a close. Generally, teams lose when they’re trailing by that much. It’s hard to overcome that sort of deficit.

And yet, that’s not at all what happened with the Aggies.

Texas A&M was able to mount an impressive comeback and snag a win against South Carolina, claiming the series in the process.

So, how did all of that scoring happen?

Well, the Gamecocks got one run on the board in the first, seven runs in the second, and then another in the fourth to get that 9-0 lead. In the bottom of that fifth, the Aggies got a bases loaded walk and then a grand slam to start making the game interesting and setting the score at 9-5.

The two teams each scored a run in the seventh inning and then the Aggies scored another five runs in the bottom of the eighth to claim an 11-10 advantage over the Gamecocks.

Follow that up with some indescribable shenanigans from South Carolina in the top of the ninth inning to give the Gamecocks the lead once more.

And then of course that walk-off home run for the Aggies.

Just a totally normal, absolutely calm sort of college baseball game.
