Fans are getting a behind-the-scenes look at what happened at the UFC 279 backstage brawl and at the UFC 279 weigh-ins which forced an entire card upside-down.
On UFC Embedded episode 5, we have a lot of questions answered in regard to the crazy shake-up of the top three fights.
Due to Khamzat Chimaev missing weight by 7.5 pounds, he was pulled from his fight with Nate Diaz. Instead, Diax was paired with Tony Ferguson. Ferguson’s previous opponent, Li Jinglian was then matched with Daniel Rodriguez. Which left Kevin Holland without an opponent.
Magically, and after a backstage braw, Holland and Chimaev were matched together.
Somehow we ended up with a better card.
