Quarterback Aaron Rodgers will begin his first season with the New York Jets. Here is when he will make his official debut, and who he will face.
May 11 was an important day on the NFL calendar. That is because the league and all 32 teams are unveiling the official schedules for the 2023 season. With that, fans and media alike can study every schedule and begin making predictions for each team’s record and if they can win the Super Bowl.
For the New York Jets, it’s the beginning of a new era. After years of floundering at the quarterback position and watching the position hold them back from clinching a playoff spot last year, the Jets acquired four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. With that, the Jets are going to be primetime darlings throughout the season, as the Jets have their quarterback to add to their well-rounded team.
So, that leaves the question — when will Rodgers be making his debut, and against who?
When will Aaron Rodgers make his Jets debut?
Barring an injury in the preseason, Rodgers will make his debut in Week 1 of the season, but on Monday Night Football. It will be an important game, as the Jets host the rival Buffalo Bills. That game will be on Sept. 11 with a kickoff time set for 8:15 p.m. ET.
Last season, the Jets were able to take the first game of the series, defeating the Bills 20-17 in Week 9 thanks in part to their defense. But in Week 14, the Bill got the 20-12 win, where the defense sacked quarterback Mike White three times.
Rodgers was brought in to help the Jets make the playoffs. In Week 1, he has the opportunity to make an early statement by defeating a perennial Super Bowl contender.
The full schedule for the Jets will be announced at 8:00 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
