The Chicago White Sox received an update on outfielder Eloy Jimenez, and the team will be without him for two months due to injury.
Back on April 23, Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez suffered a leg injury after stepping on first base after trying to beat a ground ball. As a result, Jimenez had to be carted off the field with what was described as right hamstring soreness. The team later placed Jimenez on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain, and revealed that they expected him to be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks.
On Tuesday, Apr. 26, general manager Rick Hahn confirmed that Jimenez will be out for six-to-eight weeks after undergoing a procedure to repair a torn hamstring tendon behind his right knee.

White Sox will be without Eloy Jimenez for up to 2 months
The White Sox announced in a tweet that this is a similar injury as catcher Yasmani Grandal picked up in 2021 and pitcher Lance Lynn had earlier this month.
Eloy Jiménez underwent successful surgery this morning at Rush Oak Brook Surgery Center to repair a torn hamstring tendon behind his right knee. The injury is similar to those sustained by Yasmani Grandal on 7/5/21 and Lance Lynn on 4/2/22.

Based off this timeline, Jimenez should be able to return to the team at some point in late June or early July.
Just last year, Jimenez suffered a ruptured left pectoral tendon when attempting to catch a home run during a spring training game against the Oakland Athletics. Jimenez underwent surgery and did not return to the White Sox lineup until late July.
Through 11 games this season, Jimenez slashed .222/.256/.333 while recording one home run, seven RBI and eight hits.
