Last year, it was Division I and ASUN newcomers, Bellarmine that took down Jacksonville to claim the ASUN Tournament title, but the Knights couldn’t go dancing. As the regular season champs, Jacksonville St. represented the conference in March Madness. This year, Bellarmine is the No. 8 seed in the ASUN and Jacksonville St. didn’t qualify.

Kennesaw State took down Liberty on February 16, and claimed the top seed at 15-3 in conference play, but Vegas has Liberty as a big favorite to claim the Atlantic Sun Tournament crown. Let’s look at the odds for the tournament.

ASUN Conference Tournament Odds

  • Liberty -230
  • Kennesaw State +300
  • Eastern Kentucky +1600
  • Stetson +1700
  • Lipscomb +2500
  • North Alabama +10000
  • Queens +10000
  • FGCU +15000
  • Bellarmine +20000
  • North Florida +20000

ASUN Conference Tournament Bracket and Standings

ASUN Conference Tournament Schedule

The first round begins today, Monday, Feb. 27, with No. 7 North Florida vs. No. 8 Bellarmine and No. 9 Queens NC vs. No. 10 FGCU both taking place at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

The quarterfinals will take place on Tuesday with all games also at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. The Semifinals are Thursday March 2 on ESPN+ and the Final will be Sunday March 5, at 3 p.m. on ESPN 2.

ASUN Conference Tournament Prediction and Pick

Liberty is a prohibitive favorite to win this tournament at -230. The Flames are 41st in the Net and the next closest team in the ASUN is Kennesaw State at 120.

The same goes for KenPom where Liberty is 43 and Kennesaw State is 129. The Flames aren’t the top seed, but still have a favorable draw as the No. 2.

Their conference losses this year are to Kennesaw State, the three seed, Eastern Kentucky, and fifth seeded Lipscomb. They’ll likely need to avenge at least one of those losses to win the tournament, but they’re the favorites for a reason and are my pick. It just doesn’t seem like there’s much value betting a -230 favorite.

Lean: Liberty -230

ASUN Conference Tournament Dark Horse

It might be hard to make a pick other than Liberty, but I do have a dark horse pick for the ASUN tournament that could surprise the heavy favorite.

First, I wanted a team on the other side of the bracket and a team that can get hot in a tournament setting. Stetson is the No. 4 seed, so opposite Liberty and is ninth in the country in 3-point percentage.

It takes 26 3s a game and hit at a 38.8% clip. It’ll take a crazy shooting night to knock off Liberty, and if any team can do that it’s the Hatters.

Pick: Stetson +1700
