Eastern Washington travels to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State in the second round of the 2023 NIT.

The Pokes narrowly missed the NCAA Tournament and would like to finish their season on a high note with a run to an NIT title, but in their way is one of the best mid-major offenses in the the Eastern Washington Eagles.

Will Oklahoma State’s strong defense hold up at home?

Let’s break down the odds:

Eastern Washington vs. Oklahoma State odds, spread and total

Eastern Washington vs. Oklahoma State prediction and pick

This is too many points for Eastern Washington, who plays a compact defense that allows the 18th highest 3-point rate in the country. That’s impactful in this matchup as Oklahoma State is a poor ball handling team (outside top 300 in turnover percentage) and poor at shooting from beyond the arc (330th in 3-point percentage).

While Eastern Washington will struggle with the jump in class to a Big 12 defense, the offense is potent enough to hang within double digits, second in effective field goal percentage and an elite jump shooting bunch, taking three’s at a top 40 rate in the country.

I can’t trust the Cowboys offense to run away and win by double digits against any team, so I’ll trust the Eagles’ elite offense to keep them in this one.
