Fans were left stunned as Deontay Wilder survived a huge shot from Joseph Parker during their fight on Saturday night.

The New Zealander claimed victory over Wilder during the Day of Reckoning co-main event via unanimous decision, with judges scoring it 120-108, 118-11 and 118-110.

Parker initially landed a huge right before launching on the attack, which left the American backed up into a corner during the eighth round.

The New Zealander didn’t hold back as he charged forward and threw a combination of left and right hooks towards Wilder, who stumbled backwards in hope of surviving.

It’s fair to say that Parker’s dominance was coming, after dominating the prior seven rounds against the American.

Reacting to Parker’s wild flurry, fans said: ‘HOW ON EARTH IS WILDER STILL STANDING! WHAT A SHOT BY PARKER’.

‘This guy beats Francis? Lol,’ one user commented on X, formerly known as Twitter. ‘That was some punches to take’, another user said.

One user took a difference stance on the moment, as they said: ‘His skillset has always been rightly questioned but his chin is undeniable’.

Another fan posted a clip of the interaction and wrote: ‘The reason Wilder didn’t let his hands go is this. What’s coming back.’

‘What blows my mind is that he doesn’t even look hurt, he just looks defeated,’ one user said.

‘Wilder can swing but he can’t box to save his life, give up’, another said.

Parker was overcome with emotion after his hand was raised in the air, with Andy Lee raising the heavyweight in the air.

Parker’s victory over Wilder has not only shocked the world but it may have derailed the Bronze Bomber’s plans to face Anthony Joshua next.

Wilder and Joshua had been provisionally pencilled in for March 9 – provided both men emerged victorious from their fights this weekend.

However, Wilder’s loss to Parker may have derailed the fight that boxing fans have wanted ever since their failed talks over a bout back in 2017.
