Tommy Fury has completed 100 rounds of sparring and sent several boxers to the hospital ahead of his fight with Jake Paul.

The half-brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson, is set to fight the YouTuber-turned-boxer in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 26.

Tommy’s father John has revealed how the 23-year-old sent one of his sparing partners to hospital with a hairline fracture in his jaw.

He also said that Tommy knocked several of his opponents out – having taken to the ring with heavyweights, cruiserweights and light-heavyweights in preparation for his bout with Paul.

Speaking exclusively to Sportsmail, via Freebets.com, John said: ‘We’ve had excellent sparring. People have hit him back too if you know what I am saying.

‘We’ve had good class kids in the gym. We’ve had heavyweights in. Cruiserweights in. Light-heavyweights in. We’ve had them all.

‘They’ve all been good, class, young, hungry men. But, bring it. He’s been handling them very well.

‘There have been a few visits to the hospital for the sparring partners but that’s boxing. He’s been doing them some damage.

‘We’ve had a hairline fracture in the jaw and we’ve had a few knockdowns. We’ve had a few cold knockouts from Tommy.

‘He’s been destroying his sparring partners. You can ask them. He knows who they are. They know whether Tommy is the real deal or not.’

John said Tommy has been taking the fight against Paul seriously as a defeat to the unbeaten YouTuber would ‘end his career’ and cause unwanted issues within the family.

He said Tommy has been preparing for the fight as if it was ‘the light-heavyweight championship of the world’ and revealed how the 23-year-old had been running every day to reach his peak fitness.

He also said Tommy has been hitting the weights, completing circuits and sparring with heavyweights, cruiserweights and light-heavyweights in the build up to the fight.

Speaking specifically about Tommy’s training camp and the type of sessions the 23-year-old has undergone, John told Sportsmail: ‘We’ve had a fabulous camp.

‘Everything has gone to plan. He’s been injury free. It’s gone tremendously well. I am more than happy. He’s put plenty of work in and he’s done the grinding.

John went on to say: ‘ I am hard on him but it pays off. I know how hard I have to be and I get the right balance. I have been doing this all my life. I have fought myself and a lot of those trainers haven’t. I have boxed myself. It’s a father and son thing.’

Tommy’s father went on to add: ‘It’s all been intelligent, hard, brutal stuff we have been doing. We are training for Jake Paul like it’s the light-heavyweight championship of the world.

‘He’s [Tommy] done over 100 rounds of sparring. He has run every day. We’ve done circuit training. We have done all kinds of training. We’ve not left a stone unturned.

‘That’s what I don’t do. I want my son turned out in perfect condition after everything we have done in the gym.’

John reiterated the fact that Tommy would be forced to retire if he lost to Paul – claiming his ‘career would be over’ and that he would have ‘no choice’ but to hang up his gloves’.

When asked whether there was any real substance behind the retirement talk or whether it was just for clout, John said: ‘Listen, losing is not an option for Tommy.

‘But for some miraculous reason Tommy loses, it would be over for him. It would have to be. It’s the easiest fight in the world for Tommy.

‘Tommy can’t believe his luck to be fair. But, it’s third time lucky. We’ve had two other attempts to get this fight. Everything has gone perfectly this time. It’s all about timing.’

John is confident that Tommy will win the fight on February 26 and knock Paul out in the process.

He said: ‘Tommy knows he can beat the likes of Jake Paul. He knows he’s a level above him. The people we have been dealing with, those sparring partners would play with Jake Paul.

‘Jake Paul is what they call a learner. He has L plates on in the boxing game. It’s going to be a while before he takes them plates off.

‘I know Tommy. He’s only had eight fights in five years but that is down to his promoters. That’s down to his managers. It’s nothing to do with me.

‘You know something, he could beat this guy even if he hadn’t been in the ring for five years. At the end of the day, I just don’t give him a chance.

‘There is no way he can beat Tommy. After what I have been seeing in the gym, there is no way he can. He’ll be lucky to even land a punch on Tommy. The first time Tommy connects with the right it will be over.’

When asked whether anything less than a knockout would be disappointing for Tommy, John said: ‘It absolutely will. We have not trained for points. We are away from home. He’s got to be carried out of that ring.

‘That’s what we’ve trained to do and that is what he is getting. Goldilocks is getting stopped. The big bad wolf is coming to get him.’

John went on to explain how they wrapped up camp on Tuesday morning. He also revealed how Tommy would be flying out to Saudi Arabia on Thursday.

When asked whether Tyson would be accompanying Tommy out in Saudi Arabia, John said ‘of course, the whole gang will be out there’.

John said: ‘Of course he will be there. All the boys will be there. The full support will be there. They wouldn’t miss it for the world’.
