Lennox Lewis slams Otto Wallin for having 'no definition in his body' and not connecting with any punches… but admits Anthony Joshua looked good and suggests his next fight against a shock opponent – NOT Deontay Wilder

Lennox Lewis believes that Anthony Joshua has big fight opportunities ahead of him after stopping Otto Wallin in the fifth round of their Day of Reckoning fight.

AJ was a dominant force in the headline attraction of the day of boxing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and a third straight win means that there are several options open to him for future fights, including Tyson Fury and Zhilei Zhang.

The British boxer and Eddie Hearn both believe that the performance showed a return to form for AJ – but Lewis, a three-time heavyweight champion, said that he wasn’t sure the fight was the right one to judge whether Joshua was back to his best.

Lewis told TNT Sports: ‘I couldn’t really judge with this fight if he’s back or not. He definitely looked good. He did what he was supposed to do, go out there and take out a guy you’ve taken out in fights before.

‘The guy didn’t have any definition in his body. I don’t know if he worked hard or if he was in training camp or whatever, and I didn’t see him throwing any punches that actually connected, because AJ looked good after the fight, like a movie star, like he wasn’t even in a fight.

Lewis believes Zhilei Zhang and Tyson Fury would both be 'great' fights for AJ after three wins

‘I think it does good for his mental state, everybody saying he’s back, but there’s still a long road ahead, and some hard fighters.’

Lewis said that he thinks Zhang would be the right opponent for AJ to take on next, but there is the continual rumours of a Battle of Britain fight which might eventually be confirmed between Joshua and Tyson Fury.

‘He’s still got to go up against Tyson Fury – if that fight’s going to be made. I think that’s going to be a great fight for him. Zhang from China would be a great fight for him as well. There’s a couple of guys out there still wandering around,’ Lewis said.

‘I think for this particular fight, he did well.’

In an earlier fight on the Day of Reckoning card, Joseph Parker dominated Deontay Wilder in every round to earn a unanimous decision victory over the American.

Wilder had claimed that there was a two-fight deal with AJ on the cards, but this plan looks likely to change following the outcome of both of their fights on Saturday.
