  • The former heavyweight champion showed his power and strength in training
  • He has not fought in a non-exhibition bout since 2005 and has not since 2003

Mike Tyson has shared his latest training footage ahead of his showdown with Jake Paul this summer.

The 57-year-old Tyson and 27-year-old Paul will fight on July 20 at AT&T Stadium, with the bout streaming live exclusively on Netflix

Tyson began preparing for the fight earlier this week as he took to the gym to show off his incredible power and fitness.

He has shared footage from day three of training as he again took to the pads to display just how sharp he is despite his age.

Towards the end of the short clip, which was posted on X, Tyson turned to the camera and asked: ‘Day three. You still wanna f*** with me?’

Paul then replied on X: ‘Yes, yes I do.’

Tyson has not fought in a non-exhibition bout since June 2005 and has not won a fight since February 2003. Paul has a 9-1 record as a boxer, with most of his wins coming against athletes that are not primarily boxers.

Paul has transitioned from celebrity fights against the likes of Nate Robinson and Anderson Silva, to trained boxers recently. His only loss is to a trained boxer in Tommy Fury.

Tyson will be 58 years old by the time his proposed bout with Paul happens, sparking fears over his safety almost two decades since he bowed out from the sport.

The former world heavyweight champion has taken part in exhibitions since retiring, most recently taking on fellow fight legend Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

News of Paul and Tyson’s fight has been met by criticism in the boxing and sporting world, with British promoter Eddie Hearn labelling it ‘sad’.

‘For me it’s really sad because Mike Tyson was one of my idols growing up, and to see him fighting at 57, 58… but I also understand that a lot of people are going to tune in and watch,’ Hearn told Mail Sport last week.

‘It’s an entertainment event, Netflix, great to see them involved in boxing. I think it will do really well. But it’s just not really one for me.’
