Terence Crawford has opened up on his mid-fight dispute with Jermell Charlo after exchanging words with the undisputed junior-middleweight champion during his recent win over Errol Spence Jnr.

Crawford became the first male fighter of the four-belt era to fully unify two weight divisions against Spence, putting on a boxing clinic to stop his long-time welterweight rival inside nine rounds.

It was a masterful showing from the Nebraska star, who dropped Spence three times in a one-sided contest before eventually forcing the stoppage.

And after the second of those knockdowns in Las Vegas, Crawford was seen pointing down to Spence’s stablemate and good friend Charlo at ringside as the pair became embroiled in a heated spat.

In the epilogue of SHOWTIME Sports’ All Access: Spence vs Crawford documentary, Charlo is quoted as saying to Crawford: ‘You can’t f**k with me. You can’t f**k with me, though.’

Now Crawford has lifted the lid what he told Charlo during an appearance on former welterweight champion Shawn Porter’s The Porter Way podcast.

‘I just told him he’s a b***h a** n****,’ the 35-year-old said. ‘And I told him some more s**t but I ain’t gonna tell you everything.

‘It was just heat of the moment, I wanted to let him know how I felt and let him know that I’m definitely coming for him, ‘cos that’s what I said I’m gonna do.’

While he conceded their altercation was merely heat of the moment, as far as Crawford concerned there is still no love lost between him and Charlo.

The undisputed welterweight king went on to reveal they once shared a close relationship, before his battle with Spence turned their friendship sour.

‘I don’t like Jermell for the simple fact that I feel he’s a fake individual,’ he continued. ‘I feel Errol is real, I feel he’s genuine, I feel he stands on 10 toes on everything he says or do. I feel like Jermell is just one of those guys that does a lot for attention.

‘I was cool with Jermell and Jermall and their older brother prior to me moving up in weight. I’ve got messages with him hitting me up and asking me that he’s gonna pull up in Omaha, and we talking about cars and all different type of stuff.

‘Once I moved up in the division, and I understand that their stablemates and he trains with Errol’s coach and they been knowing each other for a long time, but for him to start bashing me and talking bad about me and that I’m gonna get knocked out, going out his way to say this slate s**t about me, I was just like man that’s some hoe s**t. We don’t do s**t like that.’

Charlo is gearing up for his own mega-fight as he prepares to step up two weight divisions for a showdown with undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez on September 30.

Given Canelo has also competed as high as light-heavyweight, the odds will be stacked against the American in Las Vegas next month, yet he has promised to move back down to 154lbs and settle his feud with Crawford once victory is in the bag.

‘Bout To Shock The World (168),’ Charlo wrote on Instagram. ‘Then I’m Coming Back To Hold My Throne Down at (154).
