  • UFC legends Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will reignite their rivalry this year
  • The pair are expected to fight in 2024 – but it will not take place in the Octagon
  • Diaz will be out for revenge after losing to ‘Gamebred’ back in 2019 at UFC 244

Former UFC stars Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will reignite their rivalry later this year – but with a twist.

The pair first went head-to-head inside the Octagon at UFC 244 back in 2019 – with Masvidal defeating Stockton’s finest via TKO in the main event to win the ‘BMF’ belt.

‘Gamebred’ dominated the first three rounds and opened cuts above Diaz’s eyes that turned his face into a crimson mask. The assigned doctor stopped the fight just before the fourth round, even though both fighters felt the bout should continue.

Now, five years later, Diaz will finally get his revenge – but this time inside the boxing ring.

According to Happy Punch, the pair have agreed to a boxing showdown in March in Las Vegas – with Dana White and the UFC giving the green light for the bout.

Soon after, combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to confirm that the fight between the pair is in the works, but for later this year.

‘I ask Diaz’s rep Zach Rosenfield this evening about it, and he said “I can’t confirm that.”

Diaz choked out Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 279 to bring the curtain down on his legendary UFC career back in 2022.

In his post fight interview, the 38-year-old suggested that he will be taking his talents to other combat sports.

Low and behold, a year later, he faced social media star Jake Paul inside the boxing ring.

The former MMA star fell short against ‘The Problem Child’ – losing via unanimous decision.

As for Masvidal, the 39-year-old has not fought since his unanimous decision defeat to Gilbert Burns last year.

Since then, he’s used his profile to launch his own promotion ‘Gamebred boxing’, which features a number of former UFC stars.

Last week, he took to social media to announce he was ‘unretired.’ Many were hoping to see him feature at UFC 300 – before going on to sign to fight Diaz inside the boxing ring.
