It took a while, but Washington State has started to get it rolling.

The Cougars won their last three games to get to 13-15 with an 8-9 mark in conference play.

Stanford just hit the hardest part of its schedule and is coming out the other side with an11-16 (5-11) record, but with a win over now No. 7 Arizona.

It lost its next two games after that win.

Stanford is at home, but Washington State is a favorite in this Pac 12 matchup tonight.

Washington State vs. Stanford odds, spread and total

Washington State vs. Stanford prediction and pick

Stanford is a solid defensive team and Washington State isn’t great on offense, but the biggest advantage in this game is on the other end of the floor.

Washington State is 65th in opponent points per game, 65.1 and 119th in defensive efficiency while Stanford is 238th in points per game and 187th in field goal percentage.

Though Stanford is 135th in offensive efficiency, so that advantage could be negated a bit by its efficiency.

Washington State plays at a methodical pace, 337th in possessions per game and Stanford isn’t going to speed them up, 309th.

That means the team that’s more efficient with its limited possessions will win, and I think that team will be Stanford because Washington State is 152nd in efficiency.
