Jake Paul may look like he is winning at life in the year 2023 — but there was a time when things weren’t as smooth for the social media star.

Paul, who has became a sports personality, particularly in the boxing sphere, began his combat career as a high schooler in Ohio

The 26-year-old and his elder brother Logan both wrestled during their early years. Speaking with UFC middleweight Bo Nickal, Paul detailed the individuality which is unique to the fight game, as opposed to a team sport.

‘I think what makes the sport so special is that it’s just you,’ Paul told Nickal on Bo Gets Betr

‘Especially in wrestling, you’re out there in a f****** singlet with your d*** showing and your crush is in the stands watching, you’re 13 and it’s like “f***”.

‘You have to have confidence, I don’t know. I’ve lost in front of my crush when I was 13, bro, getting cradled and your balls are in the air. That s*** is not a vibe, has that happened to you? No? You’re the best in the f***ing world, so.’

Paul is currently preparing for his exhibition boxing fight vs. UFC icon Nate Diaz on August 5 in Dallas.

He will have his rise from YouTube to a career as a boxer and promoter displayed in a Netflix documentary as part of its UNTOLD series.

Paul has promised to punish Diaz when the two meet at the American Airlines Arena Saturday night.

‘This kid’s a punk, he’s a bully, he thinks he can do whatever he wants, and August 5 imma make him pay for all this s***t he’s done… I’m gonna knock him the f*** out.

The fight will be the first of Diaz’s boxing career following a 17-year run in MMA.

Paul, meanwhile, has a 6-1 record as a boxer but is coming off of the first loss of his career in February, vs. Tommy Fury.
