Boxing star Jared Anderson is arrested 'for driving under the influence with a gun in his car'… just days after Tyson Fury dubbed him 'future champ' of the heavyweight division

Heavyweight boxer Jared ‘Big Baby’ Anderson was arrested in Ohio for driving under the influence with a gun in his car, according to TMZ.

Andreson was initially pulled over for speeding after an officer saw him driving 55 mph in a 45-mph zone.

The officer claimed to have smelt ‘the faint odor of burnt marijuana,’ along with alcohol on Anderson’s breath and allegedly saw an open bottle of Don Julio tequila as well.

Anderson’s eyes were said to be ‘bloodshot and glassy’ according to observations made by police. Upon having his blood alcohol levels tested Anderson measured at a .038, which is under the .08 legal limit.

As part of the stop officers conducted a search of the vehicle which led to the discovery of the firearm in the vehicle’s glovebox.

The 23-year-old was booked on two charges, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle knowingly transporting under the influence and operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).

Anderson’s arrest comes only days after he was praised by Tyson Fury as a future champion and the next star of the heavyweight division. 

‘Jared’s the man. This is the future champ,’ Fury said ahead of his bout with Francis Ngannou.

‘I said it three years ago. This is the heir to the throne.’

Anderson began his boxing career as a teenager and has won several championships ranging from the Elite National Championships to the National Golden Gloves.
